Gnashing of Teeth Cannot Be Far Off

PBS TV Stations to Air Three-Part Documentary on Atheism. The series, premiering on public television on May 4, is titled A Brief History of Disbelief. Here's a short promotional YouTube video for this series, which I have no doubt will be a hatchet job on Christianity.


Is it just me, or does that list of sponsors and their descriptions leave you cold? But, they failed to mention the most important sponsor - Satan. I suppose that goes without saying. Still, this glaring omission really should be corrected. Hmmm. Can one get sued for altering a YouTube video?...

Christianity is being assailed at an exponentially increasing rate. I see it. I know it's happening. But yet, it's hard to believe, really grasp, the depth to which this world has sunk. I fear it will be soon enough before the reality becomes more than just something to blog about.

Heh. The reality of that persecution will become more and more evident as days pass. My wife asked me about that, was it getting worse, or just more known of, as the worlds becoming a smaller place, and my response was that yes, it's getting much worse. Worse in severity, and worse in quantity. I would expect that trend to continue to it's logical end, which is that one last battle, winner take all. I figure, the more people that turn away from God, the easier it is for the devil to do what he wants, as he'll grow stronger every day. This world is his, until God says otherwise.

BillyD, I have also wondered, mostly out of wishful thinking, if it only appeared to be getting worse because of the instant news and information to which we now have constant access via the Internet.

But, I have to agree with you. It is not a perception. The reality is that man is turning away from God. This will allow evil to spread like an infection that has gone systemic. And, like an infection, it will happen quite rapidly.

I see this as having an extremely polarizing effect on all mankind. There will be no one left who can be neutral on this matter. One will either stay true to God or deny Him.

No one can know the ways of God, but I doubt He will procrastinate one nanosecond to bring justice to a creation that has clearly made its choices.

Those organizations funding this "documentary" have only one goal. Wipe out all religion and usher in the grand new age of humanism.

They know better than the rest of us, you see. They also know that man's obvious need for religion - as evidenced by the many different religions throughout history - well before the big 3 were established - can be fulfilled by the worship of ourselves. We just need to see the light...

We humans are so damned great. Really. It's only that awful religion that has kept us from realizing our greatness. Once it's cast aside, we'll be set free to be the awesome beings that we truly are.

Yes, we're so great. Greatly deceived. Man learns nothing from history and quickly forgets any lessons he does learn. History clearly teaches that every time man turns away from God, disaster follows closely behind.

I don't know about you guys, but I've been sensing for about 5 years now that something not good is just over the horizon. No matter if I tell myself I'm just being negative etc, I have not been able to shake it off. I now believe we're on the eve of judgment.

I have the same sense of foreboding, but I don't trust my instincts on this. The last few years have been the worst of my life and I'm not sure this perspective hasn't been greatly influenced by my own hard times.

Sometimes I wonder if I just stay off the net and not watch TV, that I would shake off this dismal outlook and come to feel more optimistic about the future.

It's not as if I can do anything about the inevitable and hand-wringing serves no purpose other than to prevent me from taking any constructive action. Still, I find it almost impossible to go about with a business as usual attitude when I sense that the world around me is becoming increasingly corrupt and hostile.
